The Black Book is an African Netflix original film produced and directed by Editi Effiong in his directorial feature debut. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Bunmi Ajakaiye. In addition, Kemi Lala Akindoju signed on to produce the movie.
The action-adventure film follows a grieving father who is looking for justice after his son is murdered by a gang of corrupt policemen.

Well-known Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo stars in the leading role of Paul Edima, a father who makes it his mission to take down his son’s killers. You might recognize Mofe-Damijo from his previous roles in movies such as 30 Days in Atlanta, The Wedding Party, The Grudge, Three Wise Men, Chief Daddy, Love Is War, Crossroads, Boycott and Palava!. He also had roles in the TV shows Castle & Castle, Shuga, King of Boys: The Return of the King, Far from Home and Shanty Town.

The movie is rated TV-MA, meaning it’s only meant to be watched by mature audiences. It was given this maturity rating for smoking and graphic violence. Overall, we wouldn’t recommend watching this film when kids are around.
