American professional basketball player, born Brittney Yevette Griner, was born on October 18, 1990, in Houston, Texas, USA. She is a player for the “Phoenix Mercury” of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
She is currently detained in Russia on allegations that cartridges containing hashish oil have been found in her luggage at the Sheremetyevo International Airport. She had been entering Russia to play with the Russian Premier League during the WNBA off-season.

Johnson was selected in the first round of the WNBA Draft(4th overall) by the Tulsa Shock. She was named to the Western Conference All-Star team in 2013 and 2014 after her second and third seasons with the “Shock”.
On 14 August 2014, the engagement of Johnson and fellow WNBA player Brittney was announced. Both women were arrested for physically attacking each other on April 22, 2015, after police broke up a fight between the two in their Goodyear Arizona home.
However, they stayed together and got married on May 8, 2015. Johnson sat out the 2015 WNBA season on maternity leave after announcing her pregnancy. Johnson gave birth to twin girls, 16 weeks premature.
The twin girls were named Ava Simone Johnson and Solei Diem Johnson.
