Ewan McGregor was at TIFF last week, but I never got around to using any of those photos. Mostly because he was promoting a film with Naomi Watts, who I enjoy a great deal, but who is often the photographic equivalent of a piece of toast. So, I was due to write about Ewan, and here is a perfect excuse. Ewan was photographed over the weekend in England for the Goodwood Revival 2012. Apparently, the Goodwood Revival is basically a really fancy vintage car and motorcycle show. My town hosts vintage car shows too, and I always enjoy seeing some of those beautiful old Cadillacs and Mustangs and Roadsters around town once a year. Ewan was showing off a vintage Manx Norton bike, which looks very pretty. Here’s more:

His love of motorbikes is well known but Ewan McGregor turned into a real life action hero earlier Saturday. The actor took to the race track on a vintage motorcycle at the Goodwood Revival 2012, in Chichester, West Sussex. The 41-year-old put his foot down as he very stylishly raced around on his vintage Manx Norton motorcycle.

Ewan certainly looked the part in his leathers which he models for British designers Belstaff. The Trainspotting star was in good spirits as he found himself in big demand from the other attendees at the festival.

Ewan was happy to pose with fans before jumping on his vintage bicycle and zipping off around the track in some considerably good style. The Scottish actor wasn’t content with just one motor, however, and jumped on to another bike after he was done with his first one. It wasn’t just his bikes that he changed as Ewan switched between a traditional biker jacket and waterproof waxed coat.

The Goodwood Revival is a three-day annual festival celebrating the vintage cars and motorcycles that would have competed during the circuit’s glory years between 1948 to the end of the 60s. Visitors dress in period clothing and all vehicles made after 1966 are banned from the festival area, near Chichester in West Sussex.

The first Goodwood Revival weekend was held in 1998 when 68,000 people attended and this year it is expected to be bigger than ever. Ewan is one of many famous names drawn to the event due to his passion for motorbikes.

He told MailOnline, previously: ‘I have some quite old ones – one was made in 1929 – but they all work, and I like to ride them regardless of how old they are. The 1929 bike is actually a rare antique called a Rex Acme. They were only made for ten years, so there aren’t many of them. I keep it up in Scotland, and whenever I go up there, I take it out and go out for a ride with my Dad. He rides his old bike and I ride mine. It’s nice.’

Ewan has always been a motorcycle enthusiast, and I’m sure the other vintage car and bike fans were super-excited to see him at the festival. It sounds like a really cool event! And did I mention that Ewan looks really hot? He looks really hot. I would hit it. On the bike. It would be like an Aerosmith video. I would hit it with a wind machine.
