Firefly Lane season 2 part 1 has been out for a couple of weeks now, but some people are just now watching the new episodes for the first time. The latest nine episodes are full of devastating twists and turns, including revealing the truth behind why Kate and Tully have a huge falling out.

Major spoilers ahead for Firefly Lane season 2 part 1

The first part of the second and final season reveals that Tully and Kate stopped being friends because Tully drove drunk one night to pick up Marah, and they got into a car accident. Kate hasn’t been able to forgive her best friend for endangering her daughter. Of course, there is a little more to the story than Tully just “getting drunk” and driving, but below, we’ll tell you what happens to Marah in the crash.

Thankfully, both Tully and Marah survive the car accident. That said, Marah does get seriously injured in the wreck resulting in her needing shoulder surgery and several stitches. Even though Marah doesn’t die, the fact her life was jeopardized is what ends Kate and Tully’s friendship. Kate can’t bring herself to forgive her long-time best friend because every time she sees her, all she can think about is Marah almost dying.

Even though Marah doesn’t die in the first half of the second season, does that mean she will be safe in season 2 part 2? Marah will likely be fine unless the show throws a surprise twist at us. But we’re pretty sure another major character will die in the final seven episodes, so it doesn’t seem like Marah will die. Actually, we think there is a chance Marah might get married in the next batch of episodes!

Firefly Lane season 2 part 2 will start streaming on June 8, 2023.
