There’s the boyfriend ready to take the next step, a first love, and a charming British rockstar. Cami Conway has to choose one of these three men in Netflix’s newest rom-com, Choose Love! Well actually, we get to help her make a decision as the movie is an interactive film where viewers get to make certain selections for the characters. Co-stars Avan Jogia and Laura Marano have an electric musical number in the film. Were the two really singing?
It’s not really surprising that music is involved in the production. After all, Cami is a recording engineer who’s always dreamt of being a singer. And one of her potential love interests is British rockstar Rex Galier who comes in to record in her studio.
So the characters both have a musical background, but what about the actors? Is that really them belting out the tunes? We’ve got the answer for you below!
Yes! Avan Jogia and Laura Marano really sing in Choose Love on Netflix. Isn’t that awesome? Their electric duet, “All I Want Is You,” is definitely a highlight from the film. And their voices are very well harmonized! What did you think of the performance?
The fact that Marano sings herself doesn’t come as a surprise. She first became known in the industry for her role as Ally in Austin & Ally. The Disney Channel series was about a group of friends who form a musical group, and Ally was a songwriter. The actress also recorded songs for the show. In Choose Love, Marano also takes on two original songs made for the movie on her own. Those are “Bad Time Good Time” and “Brand New Heart.”
Jogia is an actor, but also a singer and is part of a band with his brother, Saint Ivory. In 2020 they released an album called Mixed Feelings. The talent has also recorded a few singles himself including “Do You Love Me?,” “Loretta,” and “Flowerboys.”
Choose Love is now streaming on Netflix.
