David Van Cortlandt also known as David Crosby was born on August 14, 1941, to Floyd Crosby and Aliph Van Cortand In Los Angeles, California, US.

Crosby, an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter, has always had a strong passion for music. Crosby attended a variety of schools, including the Crane Country Day School, the Laguna Blanca School, and the University Elementary School in Los Angeles. Before leaving Santa Barbara City College to pursue a career in music, Crosby took a brief course in theatre there. Jim Dickson provided assistance to Crosby in 1963 during his first solo recording session.

Crosby established both the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash. In April 1965, The Byrds’ cover of Bob Dylan’s “Mr Tambourine Man” became their first number-one single. Lady Friend, Everybody’s Been Burned, Why, Eight Miles High, Guinnevere, Wooden Ships, Shadow Captain, and In My Dreams are just a few of the songs that Crosby authored or co-wrote.

As the AA sponsor for Larroquette in the early 1990s, Crosby frequently made guest appearances on The John Larroquette Show. Crosby liked acting as well. Additionally, he created a Roseanne episode in which Bonnie Bramlett played a Roseanne employee’s singer-husband.
